(04) Permissions and access

Now that we've successfully set up our Google Analytics account, property, and data stream, let's shift our focus to permissions and access. It's crucial to ensure that everyone who needs access has it, and in this section, we'll delve deeper into the process.

After setting up our data stream, we can grant access at two levels: the account level and the property level. While they share similarities, the key distinction lies in whether you want to provide access to the entire account and all its properties or just a specific property.

Currently, I'm the sole user with access to the account. To add more users, simply click on "Add" and choose between adding individual users or user groups. It's advisable to notify the users and keep them informed about the access you're granting.

When assigning permissions, you can select from various levels based on the user's role. If someone will be actively configuring GA4, it's recommended to grant them editor or administrator access. Our goal is to ensure that you and others have the necessary access for setting up and managing the account effectively. Additionally, there are other restrictions and settings available for further exploration if needed.

Similar settings apply at the property level, where you can add users individually or in bulk.

Remember, it's important to review and proofread the final version to correct any remaining errors or inconsistencies. This ensures smooth access management and collaboration within your Google Analytics setup.
